will spend for extra Scarborough subway stop
25th, 2015 - In
a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 843 Toronto
voters, the slim majority (51%) approved of the idea of spending an extra $100
million (on top of the budgeted $3 billion) to extend the Scarborough Subway
from three stops to four. Four-in-ten disapprove of the idea (40%) and one tenth
don’t share an opinion (9%).
of the extra expenditure and extra stop is highest among males (61%),
mid-income groups ($60K to $80K - 65%) and in Scarborough (62%).
"These voters agree that,
having spent $3 billion for three stops, an extra $100 million is probably a
bargain for a fourth stop, in effect, 25% more subway for about 3% more money," said Forum
Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
